I purchased 2 bulbs just to try. Due to last 2 hurricanes in New Jersey, I was looking for reliable emergency light source . I have purchased almost all kind of lantern, Colman,Rayvock, propane based and led chargable and battery operated. Amongst all my puchases ,thsese bulbs are the best. These bulbs are ready to use after opening the package. I tested one on medium which was very bright and one on low. The one on low lasted more then 12 hours!. Wow!. In regular charging mode in celing bulb holder on high set when light source is there, it is very bright. As soon you turn off switch, thses bulbs starts to work!. Whne you turn on light it blinks and goes to charge mode while glowing!. What a convenience!. Very intelligent thinking! In regular use these bulbs must be saving lots of elctical bill and very bright.

I ordered another 5 of these to change all cfl bulb in my whole house.Only things worries me about battery life in small remote. But you can operate this bulb without remote.It looks like regular bulb but if you pull base out it turns in flash light! remote is another great feature in this bulb.remote also works from far.So you can turn on and off nigh lamp or celing lamp from far!

I strongly recommned all those who are searching for emergency light. Don't wast any money on those lanterns (except good one is Rayvock LED 3 d battery operated), this is the products one should have it. I am extermely satisfied with this product, I will buy more for my buisness as well. Only thing it is slight expensive but it is worth it.If you use in regular use instead of fsl bulb money will be paid off! Only request, Amzone should enclose operating instructions in box. It take times to undersatnd.

I was looking for a battery operated bulb for my pendant light in dinning area. There is no power socket or outlet there to fix a regular power based pendant light. This taotronic bulb was the only such bulb I could find with 400 lumens / 40 watts. I was very pleased as it was exactly what I was looking for. I charge the bulb during the day and put it back on the pendant fixture for dinner time. It sure is a little effort but lot less than getting an electrician create a new light point for my dinning light... Given that i have a rented apt. When charged it works for almost an hour before getting discharged.

I so much love these bulbs. This beats hands down bulbs with similar features. A rechargeable bulb goes for about $5 in the part of Africa that I am. Such bulbs hardly light up enough to even read directly under them at average height. I wanted something better. I agreed am paying far higher, notwithstanding, I bought additional 2 pieces, making total of 4 pieces. The 4th one is an introduction of the bulb to a friend who loves it based on my recommendation. It's painful however that its not suitable for outdoor, and Tao's floor lights are not rechargeable.

Its a must that change all my traditional bulbs to THIS bulb!

The lights work well and as described.. the controller, however, can be rather frustrating. Also there is no easy way to make the lights a bright white or (normal) light. Good for mood lighting.. not so good for homework.

I received this the other day to review and my gosh this has got to be my favorite item so far. Who knew you can have so much fun with a light bulb? There are just so many reasons why I like this one and it's hard to know where to start.

The way this bulb was made, it was made for like a spot light. It won't illuminate a room but it will shine bright in one spot so it's perfect for reading book under this light or pointing at some art work.

When I received this bulb I saw the switch on the side of the bulb. It is initially in the "Off" position so the remote won't work on it. When you throw it in the "DC" position, it turns the bulb on and works like a flash light. Keep in mind, I didn't screw this into a power outlet yet. It's working off a battery which I never knew it had. I was extremely excited to see how bright the LED light was on the light bulb just from battery power. When I threw it in to "AC" position, it turned off then I realized that I needed power so I screwed it in to a power outlet. Still the bulb didn't turn on so I was getting a little worried and I tried to turn the bulb on using the remote and it worked. You get three different brightness levels when you use the remote. I think when it's in "AC" it's charging the bulb's battery because it started to have a light red glow in the bulb so that's what I'm assuming.

I left it on for about an hour and it still had a very good brightness to it. I even when to touch the bulb while it was on just to see if it got hot and it wasn't very warm at all easy to handle. I liked that this one had some controls on the bulb itself too. I like knowing that if the remote was gone/lost/destroyed that I still have some control over the light bulb and that it wouldn't be rendered useless. So after knowing that, this bulb can still really be used as a flash light or as a regular light bulb in maybe those spot lighting lamps (of course, you'll have to control it from the bulb but at least it's not useless).

This bulb is a definitely something to look out for. I see this as a very versatile light bulb and I think it has potential for many different applications.
