But before you buy this light there are some things you should know:
(1) This lamp comes without a power plug. You can't plug it directly into the wall socket. It has wire leads that are intended to be hard wired into a household circuit. I had to go to the hardware store and buy a lamp cord with an on/off switch and then splice the lamp cord onto this light's wire leads.
(2) There is a bulky transformer box that you will need to somehow hide. I have mine between the back of the lamp and the kitchen wall. The wire leads between the back of the lamp and the transformer box are only a few inches long so you won't have many options regarding the placement of the transformer box. (One would expect the transformer to have been built directly into the body of the light!)
(3) The instructions that come with the lamp appear to be a bad translation of Chinese into English. They are completely useless.
(4) The lamp is not UL listed. I don't know if that bothers you, but generally I won't buy an electrical product that is not UL listed.

This meets all expectations plus. Being as thin as it is 2.4" allows me to raise my suspended celling. Saving energy is a welcome plus. My old fluorescent light used 82 watts while this LED panel uses 40 watts. As indicated in another review of the LED panels the small delay between applying power and emission of light is noticeable but acceptable. While I haven't owned this long enough to determine the life expectancy, I know I'm tired of replacing the fluorescent light in the old fixture. I also have 48 x 24 inch fluorescent light fixtures which I will be replacing with the 48 x 24 LED panels. While slightly expensive, the payback is saved energy and no more replacing bulbs.
