Best Retro Circles 30" Wide LED Ceiling Light Fixture Deals
We love the design of this fixture, but we bought it thinking it would be good in a 10x15 room we have. Erm, not quite. The lamp is fine, shipped fine, but it is slow to light up when switched on, is hotter than I expected (you'd swear these were halogen lamps) so I doubt any energy is conserved over the CFLs we had in that location before and I got the impression that this could act as a central ceiling fixture in a small room, but it doesn't really. It kind of works in that capacity, but nothing lights the ceiling. The directivity of the light is straight down only, so the ceiling and the corners of the room are dark. This works best in spot lighting situations foyers, etc. That's my fault really as you can infer that from the photo, but the description here and on most of the sites I looked at including the manufacturer's own site lacks details such as the directivity of the lumination (% downlight versus uplight) and a rating of lumens at x feet, so you can know for sure. In fact, I think all fixtures should be sortable in Amazon by directivity and lumination strength to get people in a ballpark. The finish is pretty good, the lens caps unscrew for servicing lamps and wiring it up was a simple affair. But wow, this should cost about $100. Considering the price, this did not meet expectations.
