No, these aren't cheap, but they seem to work well. Replaced some 20W halogens that kept burning out and were up in trees and a devil to replace, these are a little dimmer but have the same color temperature and so far (cross fingers) they are not burning out. Some other brands of LEDS do not tolerate voltage swings these seem to be quite robust and tolerate different voltages, my system has different transformers and has blown out some other brands of LED lights (your mileage may vary). I also bought some separately for use in a lab setting at work, they take both AC and DC voltages well and the light is stable without flicker.
