These LEDs produce a yellow/green light that does NOT resemble the color of the halogen bulbs they replaced. The light output of these 6 watt bulbs is fairly close to the 20w halogens I have been using. They are about 1/4" longer than my MR16s, so they won't work in my rail light fixtures that have a shallow glass reflector, but they do work in my can light ceiling fixtures. They dim just fine, but the dimming is not as linear as it is with a halogen bulb, and of course their color does not become warmer as the dimming level increases like halogens and incandescents do. The beam spread is about the same as the floods I use.

If you like the color of halogen lighting, these bulbs will disappoint you. If you don't care about the color quality of your lights, then these might work for you. You may be able to justify the up front expense of these bulbs through reduced electrical usage and lower heat output.

I purchased these lights for our 12v landscape lighting setup which we had initially planned to be over 500w over three different runs. However, after seeing the price of these go from almost $80 to $11.50 in the past 12 months I decided to opt for a dozen of these and pass on the 50w halogen bulbs. This allowed for a much smaller transformer which was $150 less, this that paid for the upgraded bulbs even before the energy saving was calculated in to the equation.

My initial concern was the color temperature of the lights. I spend most of my day in an office setting and find that any "cool" white temperature reminds me of work so I wanted our pool area to be as "warm" as possible. These lights are very close to as warm (see pictures) as a standard incandescent. We use them to light up 50-60 foot palm trees which they handle no problem. I have a few set up to bounce off of a stucco wall and throw light down and around the pool area which works very well.

My only hiccup was when I tried to install them into the "Paradise GL22724BK Low Voltage Cast Aluminum 20-Watt Spot Light" fixtures also from Amazon as they are about 1/4" to tall to reseal the cover. I ended up using all of them in the "Malibu 8301-9601-01 50 Watt Cast Metal Flood Lights" (also on Amazon) which do a great job as both spot lights for the up-lighting and flood lighting for the walls as the beam from these bulbs has a moderately focused brighter center with good fill lighting as well.

These bulbs were replacing halogens in 4 soffit lights I have over my garage and side entry to my home.

The bulbs seem great, fit perfectly, nice light.

Unfortunately... they kick up a LOT of electromagnetic interference. So much so that when the lights are on, my garage door openers (Sears 1/2 hp type) will not detect the remote unless the remote is about 12 inches from the door opener, by the ceiling of my garage.

Both my door openers and my outdoor remote panel stopped working when the bulbs were installed. If I turn off the lights, the garage door openers magically get back to their normal range of about 40-50 feet.

I am going to try some clamp-on ferrite noise filters on the wiring to the bulbs theoretically that should fix the problem. Still, would be nice if the bulbs themselves were had less noisy power switching.

The light is not very bright. It is ok for ambiance lighting but not if you need/want bright light. Lots of the LEDs I have tried have this problem.
