I purchased this candle for four main reasons:

1. It had a 4/6/8 hour timer. Wanted it to stay on a long time (8hrs).

2. It was ivory (off-white). Will match any decor.

3. It was unscented. Strong scents hurt my sinuses.

4. It uses regular AA batteries. No hard to find button cells.

I just received the candle so I don't have a long history to share. I can't speak to the battery-life yet. I will note that it takes FOUR AA batteries, so keep in mind for replacement costs. It is exactly as described. I was unsure about the "distressed" texture, but I am neutral about it (don't hate or love). No scent detected.

I thought the LED "flame" was not quite as bright as the "fake-flame" of my dollar store candle. But it does flicker, and gives a sense of being a real flame. LEDs are supposed to be more energy efficient, so hopefully it will be kind to the battery-life.

I plan to use this as a "nightlight" in an area that has no electrical outlets for a traditional plug-in nightlight. That is why I wanted an 8 hour timer. Most competitors are 4 or 5 hours only. Plus you can choose between 3 different timer settings. It is truly set & forget; as the lights turn on/off automatically in timer mode. I would recommend this to a friend.

OUr bathroom needs another outlet so when Christmas was over, I put this on a shelf in the bathroom to be used as a night light. It works well on the timer for that purpose. The only thing is that the batterys don't last long. I bought the led lights thinking it would burn and burn and burn with no climbing up to the shelf and messing with it but I do have to get up there and change out the batteries every week or so. the leds are long lasting but the batteries are not. I do appreciate the lack of a scent all the ones I've seen at Michaels and Target etc have a scent and my daughter is sensitive to scents so this works well for that.

I am impress with the quality of these candles. It is made of real wax and has 3 flickering lights that make it bright enough. I wouldn't say it is very bright but realistic. I would buy again.
