This is a very efficient wall mounted light that so far is the best one at

a reasonable price that I could find. 13 watt produces 100 watts of light.

Much more efficient then the lights of american brand that I have had previous.

It really is very bright and I am impressed with the amount of light it puts out.

By the way the lights of America brand I have bought before because that is all I could find in the size I wanted and it was a piece of junk. The Cooper is better made. At this point I cannot verify the longevity of the light bulb. I have found that they always last longer if they are never turned off, double normal life.

This light does have a photo cell to shut it off during daylight hours. I recommend the light. The bulb it takes is different then the previous 13 watt and has 4 terminals on it instead of 2.

More than 10-years we've been using several hundred of these outdoor fixtures in our condo complex we just bought another two-dozen. Our experience has been good most of them last very well. Once in a blue moon you may see one die early some problem with internal circuitry. A few years ago we returned two fixtures under warranty. About same time they moved production one country to another.

One PROBLEM we had -

_ As mentioned in other reviews here, the CFL bulb included in the box gives a harsh bluish-white lighting probably about 5100 Kelvin temperature not really compatible with the warmer Bronze color of the fixture. One reviewer described the light as "cold and eerie." When we first started using these fixtures, several owners complained about the strange color-tone. Eventually we replaced them all with 'warm-white' bulbs much better match with the rustic weathered look of our complex they look great now.

For 'WARM-WHITE' lighting use bulbs with 2700 Kelvin temperature -

_ example: Sylvania 4-pin CFL, 2700K, 13-Watt

_ there's also a 2700K bulb from ProLume part# PL13D/E/27

_ buying them in quantity we order part# CF13DD/E/827 from Atlanta Light Bulbs presently $3.27 each.

I have been using visible light producing products, other than incandescent for years; example CFL

This is to replace a 13 watt CFL lamp that had the photocell on top, which proved to be useless, as the soffits on my house reflect the light, and it never knew "night from day" I used that manually for a year or two.

This light, in the same mounted position functions perfectly in the dusk thru dawn mode.

Light output is very bright, full spectrum, at 4100k. Perfect for outdoor security lamps for your home.

Some people like softer lights at 2700k, similar to incandescent "soft white", but this is an outdoor lamp where you want the most illumination for the buck.

Could not be more pleased with construction, fit and finish of product. I have orders three more incase they stop making this

model. How many times do you find something that is perfect for your needs, and need another later, and "sorry we don't make that model anymore", but we have this newer "xxxx"

This is only a light, I get nothing from this review, but when something is good, give it a good review, most people who get something wrong are the first to write about the problems.

My electrician will install the 2 of these tomorrow and will post more about them after I use them for a while. But just to help others.... liked the quality and finish so much I ordered another one. The color is a charcoal/bronze so it matches my black lantern well and has a substantial quality plastic housing. I LOVE that you can just unscrew the white section to install the new bulb. Only gave 5 stars cause not as bright as I would have liked for the front of the house (wish they made this same style with a 23 or 26 watt bulb), but using it with another light on the house so will be ok. Works great on the porch.. enough light there.

This bulb fits (Yea!) Sylvania 20682 13-Watt Compact Fluorescent 4-Pin Double Tube As others have said it has a warmer tone than the bulb included. Took a chance and it fits perfectly. Will post later if it there are any problems.

2 days later: Initially tried the bulb included with the fixture and it did give off a very blue light not so attractive. But the Sylvania bulb (Sylvania 20682 2700 Kelvin color temperature) looks much bettera warm white and even seems to be brighter. Got a couple in reserve.

Later... these have been up a while now... work fine. They come on at dusk and go off at dawn. So nice not to have to worry about them...just leave the inside switch on.

Perfectly conceived outdoor lighting for any purpose. Fully functional in appearance and performance. Great use of very durable outdoor materials. Its expected to last for some time.
