Most people have more dexterity with their hands than their feet.
Most people will probably use their hands and not their feet to adjust this.
Therefore, it seems odd that it is sold as "Foot Control".
Westek's other dimmer product, Westek 4010L, also sold under Lutron brand, only does 300 watts so this is better in that respect but I prefer the form factor of the 300 watt device.
This device plugs the extension into the dimmer, that device plugs the extension into its own plug.
Also, they say not to use these with motors, but it works great with my 20 inch box fan. Much easier to just set that on high and have infinite speed variablility through this.This dimmer is easy to use and is perfect for a pole lamp we have. The dimmer is easier to use with a hand, but it can be operated with a foot.
