This unit is Wickedly Bright. Illuminates the road, side, trees all the way to stop sign 750 feet away. Other high output lights pale in comparison to this unit. Would be great for search teams illuminating not only a spot, but any hazards along they way. If a car high-beam has 1700 lumen output, think of this as both high beams in a compact package.

I had this one hour, bought it during Sandy, my wife promptly took it and told me I won't be getting it back.

This replaced a 'few' non-LED flashlights.

Reading reviews on amazon is like a treasure hunt. You're searching for key words to answer a question about an item like this flashlight which has sparse direct reviews, comes from questionable retailers or third party sources and descriptions contain conflicting specs with industry standard or popular belief.

So, I bought the cree xml by trustfire model TR-3T6, advertised as 3800 lm, and I received it yesterday from an order placed on late monday. Good delivery time, well packaged product.

My delivery did not include instruction, did not include any verbage whatsoever, but its not rocket science. Alongside the light I ordered SEPARATELY, the trustfire universal charger, and trustfire 18650 X2 rechargable batteries.

The finish on my light is perfect, the light looks as I expected, and feels nice in my hands. It is heavy for most users. I use my light to illuminate my view path in dark mushroom doubles, as I spend my time inspecting mushroom growth. Clean, white light, bright as can be in a smaller package is what I needed. This is what I got.

This is almost too crisp of a white light for me and it outshines my boss's 2400 lm. I haven't tested output or amperage, but I can tell you that if his 2400 shines below advertised at 1600-1800, then I can safely expect that mine shines at 2400 lm. It's all I needed anyways, but the light is fantastically bright and could very well be more.

As a side note, the trustfire universal charger is a little bit cheap, but I knew what I was buying. I have my worry that one of the charge ports is not functioning correctly, but nonetheless I got a good charge after leaving both batteries on overnight. (One port never turned green after over 8 hours). I am worried that the charger takes much longer to charge full than I expected.

All that being said, the flashlight is a good purchase for my purposes: SHORTER INDIVIDUAL USES OF LIGHT, THE NEED FOR CRISP, BLINDING WHITE LIGHT AND A STURDY CONSTRUCTION.

My protected batteries made by trustfire fit snug and I rate construction a 3.5 out of 5.

Overall I rate light 4 out of 5 because it's top brightness lasted less than an hour and I still nancy over whether or not it will break down on me in the future.

For a total of $50 spent on charger, battery, light, I recommend this purchase to anyone that needs a powerful torch. I think it's a good entry to the hobby and collection of this type of tool.

I purchased two of these lights. Very bright and powerful. However both had problems within a few weeks of purchase. The end cap/pressure switch failed completely on one light and only works in one mode on the other. Repeated e-mails and snail mail to the company went unanswered. No service after the sale and no spare parts available.

I live in the UK and my brother in the countryside in the USA. Bought this as a Christmas present for him. It arrived on the 21st. I'll let him speak -

I'll forgive him for opening his present early. Nice to choose a gift the recipient can't resist opening!

He estimates the distance to the pond at about 100 meters (110 yards).

He later emailed to let me know that the battery life with the output on full was about 15 20 minutes using new Ultrafire 3000mAh 18650s. This may increase with battery conditioning.
