I was looking for more energy efficient bulbs for my 50W outdoor lighting on my house. After reading the reviews on this bulb I decided to try them out. I can say that I am absolutely impressed more than I expected. These are not only identical to the 50W halogens that I had in there previously color wise, but they are slightly brighter which I really like. My original worry about using LED's was that they would either be too white/blue in color, they wouldn't be nearly as bright as a halogen, and they would be more directional lighting than spread out to accent the house. I waited to install them until it got dark outside and my lights turned on so that I could compare the two. These nearly blew me away. I highly recommend these to anyone. The bonus is that I knew Cree makes some of the best LED's out there, and the quality is outstanding. All 7 bulbs I purchased had the exact same color, which many people know is sometimes a gamble when buying LED's.

I really wanted to like these, but when two of them die within 6-7 months there is a problem.

I have only had this spotlight for 4 days, so I really can't give an endurance report. However, this light really performs. Got to go ahead and give a five star rating. If I have any major issues with this spotlight, I will update this report.

I replaced a 50 watt halogen bulb with this LED and it is almost bright as the halogen. Very slightly dimmer than the halogen it had replaced. The color is right on, almost identical to the halogen. The Cree LED runs very cool (heat wise). I know it uses lot less power than the halogen because the transformer barely heats up with this LED spot. With the halogen I could hardly touch the transformer because it was so hot. I am running the Cree LED on 12 volt AC power.

I would recommend this light. Great LED bulb!

Replaced regualr MR16s with these "long lasting" LEDs, and only 5 months down the line I have 2 out of 9 that burned out. They start flickering which is even worse then just being burned out as you have to take them down right away or it will drive you mad.

I bought these LED's just over a year ago to replace MR16 halogen outdoor lights. I have six lights on the front of my house, and I enjoyed the energy savings as well as the color of the lights. Sadly, they are all dying on me as of now, only 2 work, and they are starting to dim. This tells me two things, that the lights all share a common average life span, and by my estimate about 2500 to 3000 hours that is what you get off a standard bulb. I have my lights on 6 8 hours a night. I was lured by the price, and once again you get what you pay for. One other item, this item ships directly from China. I will never buy this bulb again
