I am very very impressed with this light. It is so bright and such a narrowed beam that it makes it perfect for my M4 rifle that I carry on duty or while out on a redent or coyote hunt. The beam reaches out like a spot light and I've shot coyotes and racoons easily with it at a long distance.

I recomment this light to anyone who needs a long range tactical light. I don't know that I would recommend this light if you are going to be doing mostly CQB because the peripheral lighting is good but not going to spread the light out as well as the regular TLR would. I'm going to buy another one in the near future.

I don't think you can beat the TLR series, especially for the money. They are US-made, well designed, light weight, very durable and incredibly bright. I have a standard TLR-1 and an HP, and will continue to look to Streamlight in the future for all my weapon light needs, as well as my professional use standard flashlights.

The TLR-1HP is a very bright light. As stated it is 200 Lumens and just as the other TLR's, it is very easy to mount on a rail system. I had a TLR-1 mounted on my tactical shotgun which I use regularly in Law Enforcement work. I broke my last TLR and decided to get this new one with the wider head. It fit just like the last one and worked just the same, just as expected from Streamlight. Unfortunately, the head on this light is too large for my application. My previous TLR was mounted directly to my forend grip on a rail system. Everything was very similar in size when I placed the weapon in a scabbard and fit nice and neat. The head on this TLR-1HP is much larger in diameter than what I am use to and is larger in diameter than the barrel size and kinda becomes a little entangled when putting it back in the scabbard. I use this light mounted on my shotgun for patrol work, it is constantly in and out of my patrol car. So I returned this light and went back to the regular size TLR-1 only because of the symmetrical sizing I need. This is a very bright light and if you are using it for home defense I would recommend buying it as it is much cheaper than the SF brand. I have been using Streamlight products in the field for nearly 30 years and they make an awesome product.

Fantastic addition to rifle. I have the TLR-1 (non high power) that has been in service on my duty weapon (handgun) since 2009. I thought I could expect the same thing out of this version for the rifle and I was correct. It is mounted on a colt M4 and performs great. Very bright focused beam that makes target acquisition even easier. I have mine mounted on the side of the rail without a switch where I am able to manipulate the on/off/momentary switch with my left thumb.

I installed it on a MOE hand-guard using a MOE illumination rail, and it looks and works great!. There is a slight barrel shadow, but it is out of sight when looking through a scope. The easy on off switch on the rear of the light works great, easy to use and VERY well built. This is now going to be my go to light for all my guns.
