we needed lights for our ceiling fan but the regular bulbs were just way to bright. I saw these and bought two for the light. They provide around a 20 watt (old fashioned measurement)

They come on in an instant. I have now acquired a number of Philips new LED bulbs. Have them mostly where lower light output is needed. Such as lights on bookshelf's, mantles etc....

Of course they claim these will last 18.3 years. :) I can only hope BUT I have recently decided to begin saving the back paper with bar code and a print out of the receipt. I intend on making them honor there claims. While Philips is proud of this somewhat outlandish long life..... the small print on the paper says they warrant them for 6 years. So if they do not last I will make them live up to the 6 year warranty. As always IF I run into problems with this bulb I will update this review.

Note: I bought these via amazon so they were 13bucks a piece with free shipping. Came back to buy two more and see they are out. I will wait for amazon or go local and try again to find......but previous experience showed not in my local stores.

I have been slowly replacing all the regular bulbs in my house with LEDs. I got these for the light fixtures in the fan in the master bedroom and so far they've worked out great!

This is a nice bulb with good light color and output, but most of the fans in my house are on dimmers and these bulbs are not dimmable. I found that I'd rather have the LED bulbs installed than the dimmers on the lights, so I just swapped the switches back for the dimmers and kept the bulbs.

One bulb I received came to me broken in the case, but Amazon refunded me for that without issues. That's the risk of buying stuff like light bulbs online--my advice would be to take them all out and test them as soon as you get them vs. putting them on a shelf someplace and waiting to find out they don't work later.

I was looking for an LED bulb to use in my bedside lamp. I first tried a 25-watt equivalent, but that was too bright and way too blue-white, so I moved on to this one which is a 15-watt equivalent with a warm (2700 K) rating. The result was to replace a way-too-bright bulb with one that comes very close to a 15-watt incandescent.

Unlike other manufacturers (e.g., GE), Philips puts the Light Appearance rating on the back of the package.

At a max this product should retail for fifteen bucks (it's a few dollars less at Home Depot).
