I use this light to help with seeing fine lines for mortise cuts, dados and sign making with a router. It is precise and beams light just where you need it. The magnet is strong and the flexible neck holds it's position well. I priced one of these at a woodworking web sight and they were around ! I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs to see fine lines and details in their woodwork, especially with routers.

This seems like a very good flexible or gooseneck flashlight. It runs off three AAA which I find handy. Some other units use button cells such as MS76. Since this unit uses AAA I don't have to stock another battery size. Plus, Duracell ProCell AAA are available very inexpensively here on Amazon.

The light seems quite bright for localized use. Buy it to illuminate small confined or difficult-to-access areas, not to light up a room!

Build quality seems very high. The handle, which holds the batteries, seems to be cast aluminum. The end cap screws off to access the battery compartment. A slide-out holder is provided for the AAA cells. It is slightly awkward. One cell is pressed into place, most easily done by inserting the positive end and then pushing in the negative end. The other two cells just rest in place as you slide the holder back into the handle.

An on/off pushbutton switch is built into the side of the handle. It works well although the "feel" of the pushbutton could be more solid it feels a bit cheap.

The flexible cable seems very sturdy and durable. And, of course, flexible! Length from the base of the handle near the cable to the end of the light holder is 15 inches (38 cm). The cable alone is 13.25 inches (33.7 cm).

The LED tip is fairly compact 0.5 inches (1.3 cm) wide. It can fit into fairly tight spaces. I see this as an advantage compared to the Pelican 2365.

There is a magnet built into both the handle base and the tip of the LED light holder. The magnet at the LED end will help hold the flashlight in place but will not support its weight. The magnet in the handle base can support the flashlight hanging straight down but not sideways. Both magnets seem handy for helping hold the unit in place.

I'm very happy with the flashlight and recommend it.

I ordered two of these LED magnetic lights and I am satisfied with them, but I think I could have gotten more for my money by getting bigger lights. These are fine for close up work but they don't throw off enough light for heavier applications.

Got the light for tight, dark spaces at work. This light is plenty bright and the long, flexible neck works great!

The magnetic handle's base is strong enough to hold the unit in most positions, including horizontally. The magnet on the light-end is strong enough to pick up a dinner fork, carefully. Neither of the magnets are neodynium-strong.

The handle feels cheep; the barrel is made of what feels like corrugated aluminum; the caps are plastic and steel. The battery sleeve is an unusual design. The flexible 'neck' part is about 13.5" long (340mm).

I've tested with both fresh Duracell and Eneloop batteries and regardless of which are used, the light is dim. The color temperature it emits is also rather cool, well over 6000K. It's not a flashlight you'll want on a night hike. That said, this fit the bill for a portable, third-hand task-light.

I use it in conjunction with a this CREE5, and these batteries. Typically, the combination of a powerful flood light, and a targetable spot light works for me.

Pros:

Cheep

Magnetic mounting option

Magnetic pickup

Hands-free

Good length neck

Not blindingly bright

Cons:

For me, on some jobs it's not quite bright enough to be used alone

Construction is lack-luster

Magnets could be stronger

Bottom Line:

For me, it's not completely without merit since fills a niche, but I'll be looking for something a little better when this one dies. Your milage may very.
