We bought these for camping. They are perfect for under the canopy. Enough light to see by, not enough to draw bugs. For a 10x10 canopy, you need two sets.

I live in a small, older apartment that has a balconywithout any outdoor outlets. I wanted a little lighting near my patio furniture at night, say for a romantic dinner outside. These are greatI stuck the solar panel into one of my flower boxes and haven't worried about it since (about 9 months). The light is a little dim (not bright enough to read by), but pleasantly blue and ethereal.

I bought similar lights at Target a few years ago and one of the strands started to have some wiring issue so I figured I'd just buy a new set.

This set looks cheap. The wiring is black and the stars do not look like they do in the photo. They're flat and don't have the detailing around the edges like the ones in the photo (and the ones I bought at Target) do. They were delivered clumsily thrown into tiny, cheap, flimsy boxesnot in any original factory boxes.

I wouldn't even care about any of this if the lights just lit, but after two days of bright, warm Southern California sun, my remaining strand from Target from two years ago lights up just fine and these don't at all. Not even a hint of a glimmer. I wish I could return them.
