300 Lumen headlamp ordered from Bright Medic via Amazon. 5 Stars!
3 modes: Full power (300 lumens). Low power (doesn't specify lumens, but still reasonably bright). and Flashing/SOS signal for emergencies.
For the price, this is an excellent source of bright light! It fits very comfortably on my head, can even adjust the position of the light to shine straight ahead of you or angle it more downwards. The Zoom In and Zoom Out feature are very well built for different situations whether shining up close or at far.
Duracell batteries were included, which is great considering when any item says 'batteries included' it usually means cheap, generic "heavy duty" batteries that are drained in no time so props for them including top-tier name brand quality batteries.
As for the Red Ring, I will quote from what Bright Medic says in the Thank You note included with the headlamp. "The bezel has a red ring that emits light vertically. Some of our customers like this feature while others do not. If you do not like this feature it is easily disabled using a piece of black electrical tape or a rubber band to cover the red ring."
I'm glad they acknowledge this because this has been an issue with any red ring light (not from just Bright Medic, but even with popular Nebo Redline flashlights as well with other companies light products). As for me personally, the Red Ring really isn't an issue unless using the light in complete pitch black darkness where the eyes are trying to focus on the light many yards ahead. When using the light for example underneath the sink or in areas where you just need the extra light, the Red Ring isn't noticeable at all.
SUMMARY: A great, bright light especially considering the low cost. Definitely worth the price. Seems well built and I hope this lasts many years to come with light use. Highly recommended!

Just received this lamp OUTSTANDING. Fantastic coverage on flood and excellent spot light. Completely met my expectations. Good quality easily fits my head (above average size) not ego size. The red ring around the hood is not a bother. Zoom is also easy and gives full range from flood to spot. I would also like to mention the use of triple "A" batteries; keeps the unit small and compact, although the battery compartment is a little difficult, and I am not particulary fond of the strobe feature either. That being said howeveer, these little quirks are not significant to overide all the plus features of this lamp. Five stars on this one.Best Deals for 300 Lumen Forehead Bonfire, 3-Mode UltraBright Cree LED Headlamp
i purchased this item the week before leaving for a medical dental mission trip to honduras. we were on the field for 3 days, and during that time, there wasn't a single moment where this light was not being used to it's fullest potential.i work as a dentist, and i've seen other LEDs with focused beams 300x as much as this one in cost. but this light doesn't fall short of such expensive lights when it comes to performance. AND it takes AAA batteries! absolutely accessible for anyone.
this light worked beautifully in focused beam to help me see what i was going while extracting teeth, and helped me to find my way around at night (no electricity), and keep an eye out for creepy crawlies in the outhouses (otherwise pitch dark), all while keeping me hands-free. needless to say, i am a fan, and not that i'm suggesting it, but i would have paid $1,000 for this light if i had to! awesome product.
Honest reviews on 300 Lumen Forehead Bonfire, 3-Mode UltraBright Cree LED Headlamp
These came in as ordered and on time, and are really handy and really bright for the money, (brighter then many EMT use around here) these can run many hours on the high setting, but we have found the lower setting is all that is really needed for most cases we have used them in, and of course extends the run time on the 3 AAA batteries distributor installed. The three settings: Full, Low, and Flashing, are more then enough I could ever imagine anyone needing; I think I could do minor surgery using one of these lights. . . I know I could thread a needle if I wanted (did it) and the flashing mode even converts to an SOS signal, how good is that when you need it, and can't remember your Morse code? And the pull/push focusing lens really works well, and the tilt function allows you to position the light down and in front of you, for walking, crawling, and the headband is great quality. Where you look, there is great ambient light for tasks such as changing a tire, or setting tent pegs, or getting something out of the tackle box, or First-aid kit.
The instructions that came with the units is great, and they even have an appreciation "code" for 20% off any future orders at brightmedic.com, and they do have some nice things there, so this could come in handy.
These lights will be used for more then just camping and fishing in our family, I am even keeping one in the trunk of the car, and our BOB (Bug-Out_Bag), so we are ready to go on a moments notice.
