This lamp does exactly what it is meant to do, provide just enough light for a workspace or bedside. I like to work into the night and don't like overhead lights because they prevent me from sleeping when it comes time to finally go to bed. Working with a smaller lamp that gives off light just where I need it to be allows me to get work done and not feel like I just stepped out of a bright light when it comes time to wrap up and hit the sack. The lamp also allows me to read a few pages of a book before bed at night, which I never really did before because of my "aversion" to bright overhead light. It's also glossy and pleasing to look at.

Keep in mind it doesn't use a conventionally sized light bulb, so you might want to stock up on one or two extra for the future so you have an immediate replacement when the bulb that's included with the lamp inevitably burns out.

I reserve 4 and 5 stars for items that tend to surpass my expectations, but this lamp doesn't. That's why the title says "3.5 stars" It's a good, functional lamp that does just what I need it to do and that's good enough for me.

It's a nice lamp, the clamp's grip is strong enough to keep it steady. Unfortunately, the reduced size socket 40W lamp bulb gets very hot, and it lasted only about 6 weeks of very moderate usage. I think such lamps need to be designed to use regular size socket bulbs, which are much more readily available, last longer and are way less expensive.

Not much to say, after all its just a table lamp! But one hell of a table lamp. A table lamp that makes you keep looking at it. Its love at first sight. Small, portable, spotless and cute, yes it is cute!

And the person who designed it must be a man/woman who is habitual of using common sense. It takes small bulb, has perforations so that lil light could filter out from its hood and would provide just enough to make room commutable. Perfect for reading novels or while working on laptop. Comes with a bulb.

I received this desk lamp about 1 month and 2 weeks ago and the light bulb that came with it blew. I figured it probably was a cheap light bulb and bought a 2 pack from Lowes of the same 40W bulbs. It blew the first one the next day and then the other one a week later. This all happened about a month after receiving the desk lamp. I am giving it 2 stars only because it does a great job of blowing light bulbs! So if you want a desk lamp that can really bust up that filament this is the lamp for you! Otherwise get something else. A side note, finding the manufacturer to replace this bad boy is not looking good. I hope Amazon takes care of this return without a problem. Usually they are pretty good about things like this though.

Lighting what I was looking for. Lamp is okay, but not best. Hard to adjust neck, and can't get the light to face down (out of your eyes). Neck needs to be longer.

Serves it's purpose as high intensity small lamp. Use one on bedside table and one on desk.
