I have them all over my house. I use them mostly as up lights in my living room. When I get home at night, I use a remote to turn them all on, and have nice mood lighting...

Don't use them with a wall switch, or otherwise cut power to them, or you'll have to set the color or mode again. Use only with remote.

The kids love these lights. I put two in their room for night lights and they play with the colors. These are not very bright for regular lighting in white mode or for parites, but great for a subtle lighting effect. Very fun. When power is turned off (main power not using remote) the light resumes start up mode. Buy a few because there may be defects, but at this price it's still worth it.

I liked this bulb when it arrived in January 2012, It says 25,000 hours life, but after using it just six times with hours about 15, it no longer comes on. With a 30 day warranty, I would not buy another. The other 3W bulbs continue to work fine in the entertainment towers around the big screen.

We got this for our living room. It works great. Considering our living room is pretty small, we dont have a problem with the lightbulb getting the signal from the remote, but you should get in a small distance from the bulb, the remote isn't that powerful.
