I love this light bulb! I got it for my laundry room because I always used to forget to turn off the light, and usually my hands are full when I go in there! The light is a bit directional (to be expected) but the intensity of the light does make up for it! It's beautifully bright, and a very very white light, not much yellow in it. The motion detector seems to detect me when I am about 8 feet away, and it stays on as long as I'm moving around in that area. As soon as I leave, it takes about 10 seconds and then it turns off.

Outside our front door is a little alcove with a recessed can light in the ceiling. Leaving it on all the time attracts bugs/frogs/etc but turning it off also turns off the after-dark perimeter motion lights, which we prefer to leave on all the time. We have looked high and low for months for the right product to meet our needs, but were surprisingly disappointed with what was available. Few motion light arrangements will fit in a can fixture and those we did find had the sensors placed in such a way that they were blinded by the interior of the can.

This light bulb was perfect. The sensor is in the middle pointing straight down, so it is unhindered by the recessed can. It's compact, so we were able to put on the can's decorative ring. It's light-sensitive, so it's not wastefully coming on in the daytime. It's LED, so it's low-power (not that that's really a concern as rarely as it should turn on) and should last practically forever. It's relatively dim, which is fine in an enclosed area in the dark.

Now we have not had the product very long, so I can't vouch for it's long-term durability, but since it is just a couple sensors and some LEDs I don't see how there's much that can go bad.

For what it is, and where we needed it, this thing is absolutely perfect. I'll edit the review if we have any problems with it in the future.

While this product works as indicated it is not nearly enough light for my smallish walk in closet with no windows. I can for instance see that I have pants on a hanger but cannot distinquish if they are black or navy. I can see that this might have certain applications but for a walk in closet, I'd give it a thumbs down.

I bought this to see what kind of light quality it would put out thinking it might have a use at a basement entrance. Very dim light. Might work as a night light but that is about it. Waste of money as far as I am concerned. I should look into cost to return it I guess but probably not worth the time or effort

I bought this for our laundry room in the basement. Not very happy with light output. I'd consider this a night light at best not a real light bulb. It puts out about third of the light of a normal 60 watt bulb. Going back to a standard bulb or might try a fixture that has the sensor instead of the bulb itself. I would not recommend for constant use. Like I said, a night light at best...
