I was hopeful that these would provide a good replacement for some mr16 halogen bulbs in my office. Unfortunately they didn't work as well as described. They were very blue in color definitely not 3000k as listed. They were noticeably flickering even when not dimmed and not nearly as bright as I hoped. I'm sending them back and keeping the original halogens for now. Trying to find a good replacement bulb these days is a real pain. Between all the various cfc and led offerings it's extremely confusing and usually leaves me disappointed. I applaud the new energy efficient technologies I just wish their color and brightness levels would be represented more accurately.

several years ago we installed new halogen down lighting (recessed) over our counters and island. the 3 inch lights used 25 and 50W halogen and generated a lot of heat and a warm/yellow light. once they started burning out I replaced them with some first gen LED lights that worked pretty good but the lumens did not equal the halogens.

these lights on the other hand are pretty much on par with the halogens and give off a very nice white light (3000K) with very little heat.

Bottom line we are very happy with these and have been using mostly LED lighting in our home. our home has about 120 lights (counting all the sockets) and our lighting related cost are way down as is the temperature and replacement of lights way down.

So if you have an MR16 style 25-50W halogen try these. I also replaced most of my halogen track lighting with the GU style LED lights remember if you have a dimmer make sure you get dimmable lights!

bought three of them. used two right away. both started to flicker after about two month in use (within a week of each other). not going to buy these again.

now one month later all three are dead! and they are supposed to last how long????

I purchased 10 of these and installed them as soon as I received them as I was excited to try out the new technology. I am an amateur chef and utilize 10, 50 watt MR16 halogen bulbs in my kitchen because lighting is critical to food prep. My Westinghouse halogen 50 watt bulbs provided crisp, true, color balanced light. These LED's not so much. The light quantity is about 25% less, but the true problem is the color quality. Everything is grey, as if it were perpetually a cloudy/overcast day. The grilled steaks have an off-grey pallor and my teenage son even said we look "cool", like zombies from the new "Warm Bodies" movie, nice not!!! Our goal was to go green and save some wattage too, unfortunately we're going to have to go back to the halogens until the technology (or brand) catches up.

Great bright light of LEDs. The light is white and bright. I use it on my work bench and I just love it when my work lights up for my old eyes to see!
