I purchased 2 of these lights to replace others that had broken from years of use. Ants seemed to like living in and around the old ones. These seem to be of far better quality than those you might purchase locally. The spike is metal as is the housing. My only other comments of note are that the 3-watt LED bulb is a bit dim and attaching the housing to the spike takes a bit of time as the power cable needs just a little more room to make the turn around the screw.

Update 9/23/13: Even though these lights are on a timer for night-time use only one of the 2 lights has burnt out. I expect the other light to fail very soon. I opened the fixture to find that the bulb is not replaceable. It's basically a $30 light bulb. I suspect the reason for the failure is the fact that the short cable routing area is not sealed. Dirt and moisture make their way into the LED card assembly area unimpeded.

I purchased these after reading the reviews which are spot on as far as build quality are concerned. They definitely "feel" like they are constructed well. I couldn't find any information regarding the light output in the description and even the manufacturer couldn't provide lumens or halogen equivalents when I called them. It would be tough to give a description of the output but I definitely think the seller or manufacturer should be able to provide specs so the customer can make an informed decision. After placing these with some standard 20 watt lights, I would guess they are about equal.

Paradise light far and above the cheap Malibu lights sold at Home Depot. You can feel the difference right away. Worth the extra money!!

I'm replacing incandescent landscape well lights PAR36 25W with these LED fixtures. This LED fixture 3W LED is visually equal. Installation is quick; product is solid and works with my current 12V transformer system. Light is Warm White (not blue or green) I have 6 installed so far and will purchase 7 more. Excellent replacement!

6/15/13 update: We've purchased a total of 13 so far and am ordering 1 more to complete replacement of our existing landscape lighting. We are pleased with the light and installation.

This is bright enough to illuminate a 10+' Palm tree. This is a durable spot light with well designed connector. It was easy for a novice like me to put together & connect to an exisitng landscape lighting. I especially like the "position" locking feature. This is a very well made product.
