i wish the description would have listed the size (e.g. diameter) of these lights. The light part itself is about the size of a quarter and with the silver trim, the total size is about the size of a half-dollar coin.

I found these on Amazon, and the reviews were very helpful. I love them! perfect amount of light, I only wanted them to provide low light and look cool. I got both. EASY to install. I didnt want a power supply either, I have a large transformer and I want everything to turn on/off at the same time. So I cut off the end plug and hardwired it into my system. If you do this yourself just make sure you waterproof your splice. I spliced the wires together, taped them, then I put my splice into a small coin bag and then filled that with sillicone. I doubt water will get to that. I might by some more just to have on hand in case any of the lights go bad and I can replace them. BUY THESE you wont regret it.

Bought 6 sets of these lights to install as my deck stair lights. Easy install and wiring. Lights appear to be well built and fully sealed from the elements. If I had to complain about something, it would be the brightness. They are very bright for listed power consumption and it's not ideal for stair lighting since you are being blinded as you are taking up the stairs. I solved the problem by installing an inline dimmer and now the setup works great. Also, each set of lights comes with a power supply and a solar sensor that can drive up to 24 lights (as per manual). I wish there was a way to just buy additional lights. Two solar sensors didnt work out of the box, so its a good thing iI had four spares. Overall longevity and reliability remains to be seen.

I put in a new deck and wanted to add some built-in lighting. For obvious reasons, LED was the only logical choice. Every other option I considered except this one was prohibitively expensive. Basically, this set of six lights was about the same price as each individual light in other offerings. It took four sets to provide a nice set of border lights on my deck and stairs. I bought two more to have replacements in case of light failure in the future. Each set of lights includes its own transformer and even a drill bit for the right size hole. Since installing these lights early in December 2011, and finding a good, reliable Intermatic outdoor timer, these lights have performed flawlessly. At first I thought their one-inch size might be a little small, but it turns out to be the perfect size for an attractive border that doesn't overwhelm. This has been an excellent product for an excellent price and I am very pleased.

As other reviewers have said, they are smaller than you imagine they will be -though overall, for light output, it's about what I thought. The box says each light is comparable to 4 watt incandescent (I don't know why the product description doesn't include that information). I know I've seen some big LED fixtures which claim to be up to 10 watts -so this is a good amount of light from such tiny units. I was considering these for an interior installation where they would have been closer to eye level than a step or deck installation, and I think I've ruled that out because they aren't quite attractive enough. First, I would have wanted the clear part at top to appear to be glass, but the lens looks like milky colored poured-on plastic. Practical, I'm sure, for weatherproofing, but too cheesy looking for indoors. Also, the two LED lights in the photo look 4x larger relative to the size of the light than they really are. That's what you would want, for the light to be diffused and more uniform looking over the whole lens. Instead, you see 2 tiny distinct 1/8" bright dots inside the 3/4" diameter space. They look lonely.
