I put this lamp on my eldest child's headboard so that there would be enough light to read without disturbing others. It's just about right for that, maybe a touch brighter than young eyes really need but still about the dimmest you will find. Installation was reasonably easy, since it has a detachable bracket you screw to some surface, after which you bolt the main light to the bracket.
The included screws for attaching the bracket were fine for a wall but I had to use shorter ones for the headboard.Works great for late night reading. Only issue is the mounting method leaves a bit to desire as its raised off the surface by 2" and looks a bit weird.
