I purchased one of these LED bulbs to replace an existing fluorescent bulb in my building's elevator. The light output from this bulb far exceeds the 20W bulbs it replaced. I plan to replace the 40 existing bulbs with 10 of these.Though the initial cost of this bulb is significant (8-10x more), I chose this bulb over its fluorescent counterparts because of the difference in estimated lifespan of the two and the estimated energy savings. The payback period should be one year. Well worth it in my opinion!
Best Deals for Bulbrite LED/1383/WW BA15S Warm White 2.6W LED 1383 Elevator Light
This weekend, I installed two of these in my RV. They are a nice warm white, and a nice looking bulb. They use about 1/10 the energy of the 1383 incandescent bulbs they replaced, which will make the coach battery last longer. The warm white color temperature of these LEDs is very close to the color of the incandescent bulbs. These are not hot to the touch when running, just a slightly warm. The incandescents would blister my fingers if I touched them. I will appreciate not having the excess heat in the coach. I'm not using these for reading lights, but if I was, I'd select one that is slightly brighter (150 lumens) and with a whiter light (4000 6000K). Since they won't burn fingers, it is easy to quickly swap one for a reading bulb when needed, and put this warm white one back in for the nicer mood. Best of both worlds.Edit: while I like the bulbs, just wanted to note that they do not look like the one in the photo. Shape and size the same, but heat sink and LED surface look different. They were purchased via Amazon at Martek Industries.
