Nice light works like a flashlight. With it's strong beam up to whole a block in my neighborhood. But wide burst of light like a lantern. It's not all that heavy even with the batteries in it. It can use both D & big square volt battery. I have not tested the floating ability if dropped in water. The rubber is a little more harder & stiff. Than previous models. But over all it's a great lantern / flashlight.

This flashlight is the worst, the most horrible i've ever own! not bright at all and, does not flood wide area, its more of a spotlight, a tiny little 5 inch diameter beam even with brand new batteries! The only reason why i kept it is because it's not worth sending it back for my money, it would just be a waste of time and money charged from the return shipping fee. i dont recommend this. if you're looking for something better, don't bother wasting your money here.

This is a replacement for one I bought 20 years ago. Somehow the handle got broken. I couldn't find one of the same quality in the stores. Searched online and was able to find the exact replacement.

I purchased this light because of the ability to place it in various positions to accommodate whatever I am doing. I was pleased that you can use either a 6 volt or 4 D cell batteries to power it.
