I never take the time to write reviews but this light is the perfect night light. KindeGlo has the best customer service I have experienced in a long time. I purchased the Bronti & TRex light which both failed in a matter of months. I returned the lights and they sent replacements immediately giving my daughters the option of upgrading to the Quarter Moon. For those of you that have seen the negative reviews on the lights & chargers failing, the company says the problem has been discovered and corrected in their lights.

A nice size and shape with essential all night light and portable feature. We got this as a replacement for the perfect brightness of the OXO Candela lights which failed to recharge fully after 1 year. But the Kinderglo Moon is just too bright for a night light, especially on the "all night" setting. My daughter loves the soft purple color that occurs during the color cycling mode. But alas purple is not available as an "all night" color. All night light is only available in bright blue (way too bright), bright green (a little less bright) and red (least bright but kind of creepy). She also pushes the color change button a lot on bottom of the moon and I am worried she may break it. She does enjoy putting it under the covers in bed to scare away monsters.

I do not understand if the product is rechargeable. It comes with a base that you plug in. But there is nothing in the instructions about charging it. The problem with rechargeable nightlights is the battery eventually fails to charge anymore and needs replacing. We'll see how long it lasts. The Tykelight Buddy seemed a good option but it is no longer made and its replacement Glomate has poor reviews. I got replacement batteries for the Oxo Candelas off the Oxo website and now they are fully recharged though Oxo Candela are discontinued. We are also having some good luck with a Mathos Bubble rechargeable ball light we bought 10 years ago. It still recharges and is the perfect soft light and lasts 10+ hours plus it is silicon and can be dropped or bounced or held. But it has a very high EMF field while charging, a concern with all rechargeable nightlights.

Update: We returned the Kinderglo Moon (my daughter still misses it) and got the Onaroo Owl nightlight. It has minimum battery drain and is BPA free and shines all night in soft pink, yellow or blue. You can set it to change to green when it is time to get out of bed. So far so good!

I have purchased a Quarter Moon a while ago. We already have the Bronti (called Borris the Brontosaurus), which has been our favorite light so far. Now my daughter wants to play with the moon all the time. During the day she carries it around, grabs it by the handle and plays and cuddles with it. Since we own the nightlights, we established a new bedtime routine. The green light is bright enough to read our bedtime story while all other lights are switched off. Now my daughter can hold the moon and I can read and hold Borris. When we are done reading I walk out and she plays for a little while until she falls asleep. There is a convenient setting to let the light fade off after 1/2 hour or stay on all night. This made our bedtime so much easier and fun and it keeps the "monsters" away! Best kid's toy and night light out there.

My 1 year old son likes to sleep with a soft light. I used to have his bathroom light on, but didn't like it. The quarter moon was the perfect solution. It doesn't get hot, he can grab it easily, he can take it anywhere he wants and he stares in awe as it changes colors (when he is really going to sleep we use the blue light only). It is very soft so not compromised by the several falls it endures and goes on 11 hours straight without any sign it is close to the end of the battery life. Sometimes when I'm recharging the light doesn't turn green, but the moon is full charged even so, so I do not mind.

I bought the quarter moon night light for my 4 year old daughter for Christmas 2010. We have a turtle light from another company, but my 4 year old and 2 year old daughters always fight over who gets to sleep with the moon.

The light has always worked great, but I noticed around April 2011 it would only charge if something heavy was put on top of the light as it wasn't making a connection with the base when placed on the charger. I contacted the company, Blue Moon Lights, and received an immediate response with some trouble shooting tips. I responded back and the representative (I think it was one of the owners of the company) responded multiple times. He offered to replace the moon at no charge. I let him know my kids fight over who gets to sleep with the moon every night and let him know we alternate with another light up product. He proceeded to ask me if my kids were 2 boys or 2 girls (I told him girls) and he said he included something in the replacement package that would help with our nightly battles and emailed me the tracking number. When I received the package, I was shocked to see the elephant light in addition to the replacement moon. In his previous email, he even gave me a discount code if I ever wanted to purchase another product from the company in the future. My kids were excited as well, but now we have nightly fights over who gets to sleep with the elephant :)

Hands down, this is one of the best customer service experiences I have ever received. I'm so happy to see that there are still companies that see the value in customer service and I will be recommending them to all my friends with kids!
