All are good quality. We have the brackets in the hallway to the basement and another set in the garage so we're ready when the power goes off (often). They are well made and really hold the flashlight in snugly, even in the vertical position which worked well for our locations. As for the colored lenses. I like to look at bugs at night and my husband has a telescope so these lenses have come in handy when we're outside at night and don't want to have to keep adjusting our eyes. Great value and great product!

The mounting brackets and anti-roll device are incredibly useful and work very well. As for the additional lenses, probably not for everyone, but the brackets and anti-roll device make it well worth the extremely reasonable price.

So I bought this for my new MAGLITE S4D016 Heavy-Duty 4-D Cell Flashlight, Black. I bought this kit only for the anti-roll bar, but the price seemed like a bargain. Let me first describe the lenses as there seems to be some confusion about what they are for.

RedUse at night so your night vision is not reduced

Blue-Use at night when you don't want your light to be detected

I wish that there was a green lens for map reading at night, but oh well.

The anti roll bar is basically a rubber/silicone slip that goes over the head of the flashlight. It will save you from losing your mag.

Another thing that comes with the kit is a set of mounting brackets. They seem to be sturdy, but they are way too tight. Make sure whatever you attach the mounts to is especially sturdy otherwise you may pull a desk down.

Otherwise, I would recommend this kit for anyone looking to compliment their mag.

The colored lenses are for use when you need light but not bright light. For example: when driving and the passenger uses the flashlight as a map light; or in a security setting when light is needed but you don't want to blow your night vision or to limit the light signature you are giving off. Red is very useful, the old military flashlights came with colored lens kits that fit into the battery cover and we used the red all the time. With the extreme brightness of a 3 D-Cell LED MagLite colored lens filters are essential.

I got the 3d cell maglite with LED as a gift and the anti-roll attachment perfects the military look. I tried all the lenses, and the blue one has the highest energy and cuts through fog really well. I mounted the flashlight brackets on the rear roof column in my truck, but the plastic trim will not stand up to the abuse so I still need to drill into the frame. When mounting, make sure you have a solid base. I knew what i was getting and was a great buy; no complaints so far.
