Got this on sale at the local Ace Hardware for ten dollars. Had I known what a great deal it was, I'd've bought another two pack.
There is some simple assembly required and the kit includes some adapters I've never seen on solar lights. I like that the user has two configurations from which to choose: the conventional stake in the ground or the more decorative hanging coach lantern. In addition there are pieces included that will double the height of either configuration. An adapter is needed to double the height of the stake design.
I've observed that the light spreads significantly further the higher the light is placed. Of course the intensity decreases with the distance. These 2.4 lumen output lights are indeed brighter than regular solar lights. The light does last all night as long as the units are charged with enough sunlight during the day. Mine get about six hours of sunlight a day where they are located, and so far that seems sufficient.
Directions state that it takes 8 12 recharging cycles for the batteries to reach full capacity. I haven't reached that number yet, and I'm already satisfied with the brightness and performance of these lights.
The poles for the hanging design are metal. The stakes are plastic, so they can't be used to kill vampires.

I know these are solar lights and I was not expecting them to be very bright. However, I took them out of the box and installed them in less than 10 minutes at about 6pm. By nightfall, the lights turned on (surprise number 1) and were actually bright enough to light my walkway (surprise 2 since they batteries were not fully charged). Received lights earlier than promised date and they were packaged extremely well. Lights were in excellent condition, easy to assemble (without any tools) and work great after charging for 1 day in full sun light. Option to use on pole or spike is great. The light makes a great accent light for a wall. The light is made of plastic, but from a far it looks like metal. Each light is powered by a NiMH Rechargeable Battery that can be removed and replace if it goes bad. The light source for this light is a single L.E.D bulb in each lamp (see pics). For installation you have 2 choices, installation on a stake or on a hook (see pics). Since there is only 1 L.E.D in each lamp the light output is not that great. If you are looking for a lamp to light a path, this might work if you use the stakes to install it close to the ground. I install my lamp on the wall using some flower pot hooks (see pics).
If you install it higher than 4 feet of the ground it is useless as a path light. I have uploaded a short video to show the light output. If you notice in the video I tilt the camera down and there is no light on the ground. The plastic has held up very well in the direct sun light and the batteries that came with it have held there charge all night. For something that is cheap and made out of plastic the build quality is pretty good. I am happy with my purchase.
Update:07/06/2013 These lights have been installed outside for over a year now. They have been through, a tropical storm, rain and hot summer day and they are still working perfectly. I had to replace 1 of the nimh batteries but other than that they have been great.

I always wait for several months of use before leaving a review and it's no different with this particular product. With great trepidation I ordered these in hopes that it wouldn't be like the other negative reviews and that I'd have a positive experience with them. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. After one month one of them quit working completely. After three months the other one went out. Inclement weather was not even a concern beings that it was during the warm months. I'm gravely disappointment in this product and will turn again to my search in finding lights to help illuminate our yard.
