I live in an apt. with no fireplace and always wanted one however most fake fireplaces look cheap and cost a lot so I bought a clay looking simple outdoor Chiminea on a stand for $59 at pottery barn then placed it in my living room and put about 5 inches of rocks I've collected over the years (It says to use 5 inches sand or rocks on bottom inside) after arranging that I put this set of candles inside on top the rocks and WOW when I put them on red flickering or any color it just makes the whole inside glow! I love this, it's just so cool! I bought a second set and will have to think of some other project to use them for. Would highly recommend.

Not only did 2 out of 3 workthe very littlest of the set wouldn't turn on! After a month of using them in the bathroom 3 times a week something happened with the colors. No matter what button I push, they are all just shades of red. I bought several of these for my backyard and I was very impressed and enjoyed using the remote control to activate the candles (I bought 3 sets) in different colors. The timer feature wasn't quite what I wanted (the last ones I had came back on at the time I set), but they seemed great otherwise. After 2 months of only intermittent use, they essentially no longer work. The candles only come on in the red color and will not shut off on their own. I tried changing the batteries in the candles with the same result. If I need to change the remote batteries after only two months of infrequent use, than these are not worth the money. I LOVED these at first--then the smallest one went dark. It just stopped working. I saw that another reviewer said the same thing (Justin Engelmann)I guess it could be a flaw in the smallest candle. I also noticed that the candles do not cycle through all of the colors after only a month. Another reviewer (Justin Engelmann) mentioned that too. Will not buy again, that's for sure. These are great candles, well made, very useful indoors and out, the light is effective, very impressed, will try more Mooncandles in future.
