Bought them to replace the incandescent lights in my living room. I would say they equal to 60w mirror type spot light bulbs from GE. I had them installed in open recessed fixtures, and the beam angle, light color (2700k), uniformity of light tones (when compared with neighboring bulbs), and dimming ability with no flickering, make this item the best choice for a warm, luxurious lighting ambience in the room. Too bad for the prices that are still a bit high, but I plan to update all my home ceiling recessed light fixtures with this led light bulb!

By the way, I tried first the 8w model offered by philips, but it turned out to be way too bright for my application. I fully recommend to buy a pair of bulbs of several models and wattage before you go for a full replacement of your light bulbs. Hope it helps!

A great replacement for my 50-w GE PAR20's. Good match on temperature rating (warm light). Good dimming response. Bulb is a tad longer than the GE's.

These seem like far more than a 50 W equivalent. Clear bright light, but there is no light escaping to the sides all is directed downward. When I installed one in a pair of glass pendants with a halogen in the other, the pendants looked very different. The glass glowed with the halogen and was dark with the LED. On the othe rhand, when used in a recessed can, the light was very similar to the halogen, just a bit brighter and sharper.

Replaced my sylvania para20 50w bulbs in recessed lights. Has a nice warm light, but just a tad brighter, whiter than the sylvania. Have them mixed together and you can see the difference but only if you know to look for it.

I had bought these to replace a couple Sylvania R20 style flood bulbs. They were too big, starting at the flair-out, to fit my recessed cans. It's too bad, b/c these are nice LED bulbs. They feel very solid. I found another spot, in one of my outdoor (protected) spots that covers my front door. I know they say Indoor, but I didn't want to return them and this is the only spot where I could have used a single, or double, flood light at the moment.
