This is my favorite night light of all times! It puts out a soft glow, not a knock-you-down, whammy-type light. At night it is perfect. You can see well and, if you keep your eyes squinched sorta closed when you get up in the middle of the night, you can hurry back to bed and pretend you never got up and go right back to sleep. Not at all one of those it's-so-light-in-here-it-must-be-morning-so-I'll-start-planning-my-day type lights. Just wish I could find more. GE doesn't seem to be making them anymore, or something... I can't find them any more. If anyone knows where some might be hiding, I'd sure like to know about it...

These are great nightlights! I put 3 in my kitchen and they offer perfect lighting with interesting effects for my nighttime water trips. The lack of a 5th star is due to manufacturing inconsistencies: 1) hue of light varies slightly from unit to unit 2) the "pole" in not FIRMLY fixed in its vertical positions so can lean a bit. I would still recommend though!
