A true spotlight is measured in candle power, a floodlight is measured in lumens. This is a floodlight, it's light is spread out. Also it is big and bulky, probably to make it appear more powerfull then it is. The whole bulky body is hollow and serves no purpose. If you want a spotlight to shine on a distant object, this is not it.

I can't say the whole spotlight is bad, it is light in weight and very bright. It was great while it lasted.BUT...the very first night it was used, the plug got hot and melted.
I can't seem to find a spotlight that does not do this.
I thought if I bought a Coleman it would be different, but it wasn't.
