The first one (original bulb) lasted 4 years! through rain -10F winter and 90+F summers!

Two bulbs get power, the other two are connected via the glass so they get a transference of current and that makes them glow. (What I noticed is that I guess the two non-powered bulbs may have went out first, but it is so bright I didn't notice it until I put the new one in) Listen.. I don't know HOW they work.. they just DO.. for a LONG BRIGHT time!

We found we could not find these light bulbs anywhere in town. We went to Lowe's and Home Depot as well as some independent hardware stores. Found them here at Amazon, ordered them and they came pretty fast. So nice to know we didn't have to replace our light fixtures and were able to get our bulbs.

I could not buy this bulb locally despite having purchased the fixture. The man at Home Depot said it had been discontinued because it did not sell. My last bulb lasted over 2 years! I searched the part number & saw I could buy it at Amazon. A coupe days later it arrived & I am very satisfied that I once again have a security light.

If you're reading this, odds are that you bought the Lights of America fixture from Home Depot just to learn that they stopped carrying the replacement bulbs. The new fixtures currently for sale in stores use a 43w bulb with a pin connector rather than the screw-in connector, and the 43w screw-in bulbs are seemingly impossible to find.

Though quite expensive for a bulb, I ordered two of these from Amazon as that is still much cheaper than replacing my two fixtures. I used the lowest-cost shipping method, and though it said estimated arrival would be 5 21 days, I received them three days later. They were well packed and arrived safely.

One thing I noticed is that these bulbs must dim over time, as the new bulbs are much brighter than the 4 year old ones I replaced. However, I now remember the original ones being this bright as well at first. Just be ready for a bit of a surprise at the brightness when you first turn them on.

I had bought a outside flood lamp and I needed to replace the bulb. The store where I bought the lamp no longer sold the particular bulb. Nor did any of the other stores around. So I went on line to Amazon.com and found the bulb on sale so I bought two of them.
