Before purchasing this item, I knew that it wouldn't be as great as the BookWedge book lights that I had been eyeing. Unfortunately, BookWedge lights are simply too expensive for me to purchase at this time, so I went with the cheap version and bought this "made in china" copy. It does work, but most of the light seems to shine at the edges of the plastic. There is plenty of light to read the page when you turn the light up as far as it will go, though. I bought this light because I like to read in bed and didn't want to disturb my husband while he was sleeping. This light does serve that purpose, but when lying in bed, it is a bit cumbersome. It would, however, be great for reading when sitting in the car and I will definitely be using it for that.

the light is rather dim and size may not cover all types of books. Long battery life though. Would recommend to folks who really read in the dark.

My husband had this on his wishlist and while it works really well, it's a bit smaller then the books he normally reads, (ie textbooks) and that is driving him nuts because it has to be moved as he reads.
