Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program If you are looking for a bright close proximity work light, this just might be the light you want. It has 15 bright white LED's that provide a circular beam, even though they are in a rectangular pattern on the light. The housing is nice and durable, with a waterproof soft rubber-like grip it is easy to hold, but you really don't have to hold this light. At the top there is a hook that pulls out. It is a little hard to pull out at first, but that is probably a good thing, or else it might just be flying out when you don't want it to. Once the hook is fully extended it has the ability to turn 360 degrees, it is also notched so that it stays wherever you place it. There is also a strong magnetic stand with a flexible gooseneck which the light clips into. Watch out, the clips scuff up the grip of this light. I have only had it in and out of the stand a few times and it already looks like I have used this light for months. I wonder if continuous use of this clip will tear the grip up. It is something to think about. The stand provides convenient hands free use provided you have a magnetic surface to set it on or hang it from. The on/off switch is conveniently place on the rear of the light right where your thumb should be making it easy to turn on or off. If this switch is held down for a few seconds when the unit is off it activates the Ultra Violet light which emits from the top. This is used to check for leaks under the hood of a car, or you can use it to illuminate the black light posters hanging on your wall, the choice is yours. The charging dock is nice and substantial, it can be placed on a workbench, or mounted on the wall with the enclosed screws. Although the battery is supposed to last for 6 hours I haven't had to charge it yet. When you do charge it there is a blue light that blinks, then turns solid when it is fully charged. The Philips 22001UVX1 has a nice bright beam, although it does tend to have a yellow hue around its edges. The center of the beam is a pure bright white. Its 15 LED's emit a nice focused beam for close proximity use (1200 lux at .5 meters) . Although it could be used as a flashlight, the extreme brightness decays the further the beam is thrown away from the light, though I wouldn't want to look directly in it from any distance, but it still does a pretty good job. The documentation included with this light is nothing more than a small pamphlet full of diagrams that need to be deciphered to understand so that the same one can be used for sixteen languages. Pretty weak Philips. There is also a one year warranty in actual words, not pictures. The Li-ion 2200mAh 3.7V battery is not covered under the warranty. Is it worth the premium price Philips is asking? I don't know, but I haven't checked out the competitors either. This is a professional automotive lighting instrument from Philips Automotive Lighting Division.
Update: This light proved to be a lifesaver during Hurricane Sandy. The power was out for a week and this light sure did come in handy. We even used it to cook meals on the gas stove in the kitchen. Using the magnetic base, we stuck the light on the refrigerator, providing more than enough light for cooking, it lit up the entire kitchen. Of course, we used it for much more, and we were able to recharge it on the generator. The light never lost its charge throughout this ordeal, but we recharged it daily, because we did not want to be without it!

I'm giving this light 5-stars although it is with some hesitation. The light itself is a solid 5-star product, but the charging stand could be better. It's very light-weight, I would have liked a weight in the bottom to make it stay in place better. Also, the spring loaded contacts that charge the light do not always make contact. I have to wiggle the light until the charge indicator comes on.Still, the light is great. Bright, good light, and a charge lasts a long time.

Excellent light. Durable, bright, practically indestructable. Last longer on charge than most current lights. Checkout cool magnetic hook. Has awesome UV blacklight for leak detection for automotive inspections. One of the best LED work lights on the market. Philips makes good stuff.Honest reviews on Philips 22001UVX1 Blue/Black High Performance LED Inspection Lamp
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Overall, I like this high intensity inspection lamp from Philips. The light itself is rugged, able to stand up to drops on cement or most anything else. It can take mud and rain and most any other common abuse. In contrast, the charging stand is disappointingly lightweight, and when I opened the box, one of the rubber feet that fits in the bottom was loose in the box. Replacing it, I wasn't too impressed with the fit, but as long as you aren't hard on the base, it should be fine.
The magnetic hook holder is pretty cool, if rather stiff and difficult to pull out and rotate, though it shows signs of loosening up. It's a big magnet with a hook to hang the light from, obviously intended to attach to the inside of vehicle hoods to help illuminate the working area. The hook works great on any strong metal surface. My mate owns vending machines and absconds with the light and hook any time he needs to work on one. He says it lights things up for repairs in dark spaces better than anything else he's ever used. Right now, the hook is sticking to the side of the refrigerator, holding the light, which is illuminating the kitchen for the night because the overhead light died a little while ago. The hook lets us put the light right where we need it and made cooking dinner easy -if we'd had to rely on a flashlight, we'd have given up and gone out.
That brings me to what I feel is the best thing about this product. In an emergency, this six-hour rechargeable light is an absolute godsend. It's bright, tough, and reliable and whether there's a power outage indoors or a need to see outdoors, this is a great tool. I especially like that it can be recharged with a car adapter for use during travel.
The light also includes a black light for spotting automotive leaks; we find it useful for searching out cat urine. The instructions are impossible, but happily are unnecessary because it's easy to figure out how the light works. The biggest drawback is the price, which I feel is way too steep for what you get. Overall, we like the light, but I would definitely shop around before deciding on it.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program If Hurricanes, ice storms or violent thunderstorms are a threat to you, you MIGHT want to consider a rechargable flashlight, like this PHILIPS model. During the onslaught of SANDY, I wasnt running around from store to store, looking for "D" cell batteries, thanks to this flashlight. (I was in the stores buying bottled water, and ALL the "D" batteries were GONE.) My Philips flashlight sat on my kitchen counter in its charging dock. The little blue LED light was on, letting me know that the flashlight was fully charged. If the lights had gone out, that light would have STILL stayed lit, until I took the flashlight off the dock stand. When you use the light, and put it back on the stand, the blue light flashes, indicating its charging. This was a firm comfort. When I saw I wasnt going to need the flashlight, I left it burn constantly until the batteries fully discharged...well over 6 hours later. If you bought this for NO other reason, than to counter the fear of these bizarre global warming storms, you'll have piece of mind. Plus, you'll save a LOT of money not having to buy D batteries.THis light has other funtions. The PHILIPS flashlight is marketed as an inspection light, because there's some UV LED lights on the top. If you have a leak in your radiator fluid, the fluid will glow. Also, there's a stand with 3 strong magnets in the base, so you can slap it in place on sheet metal. The top of the stand holds the light in lots of various posistions, for checking out the car engine. (The photo shows the charging dock, not this stand.) The obvious benefit here, is not electrical cord getting in your way, and no light bulb to burn your forearm on. I'd say the flashlight is as bright as a 30 40 WATT light bulb. Even tho there are 15 individual LED lights, you still get a focused round bright spot. On top of the light there's a hook, you can pull out so you can hook the light for hanging up. Be warned...that hook is tricky to pull out of the top of the flashlight. At first, I couldnt figure out how to turn on the Black light LEDs. With the flashlight OFF, push and HOLD the "ON" button, for about 10 seconds. That turns on the black light.
I also own a KNUCKLEHEAD rechargable flashlight from AMAZON. The KNUCKLEHEAD is a little more expensive, but you can charge it from your car cigarette lighter. Also, the magnet that can hold the Knucklehead onto sheet metal is not on a seperate holder, but part of the flashlight. (One less thing to get lost.) The light is more spread out with the Knucklehead, and since the head swivels, you might find it to be more easy to focus. However, the Knucklehead DOES NOT HAVE THE BLACK LIGHT LED fuction. If you are checking for leaks in the radiator, you WILL NEED this. The Knucklehead has an adapter, so you can slide in 4 AA batteries for the light, when the rechargable Lithium battery fails. This obviously extends it use as an emergency light. Both rechargable flashlights are in the same ballpark, if you arent planning to use one of them for inspecting your car. Right now, the PHILIPS FLASHLIGHT is much cheaper here on AMAZON, than the knucklehead.
