This bulb is a good replacement for 12V bi-pin lamps. My only complaint is that it is simply not bright enough. If you're purchasing this with the expectation that it will replace a halogen bulb, in terms of brightness, I would suggest something else. In addition, the bulb does not diffuse the LED enough, resulting in directional lighting. The color of the light is more white than a traditional incandescent bulb, however, you can tell it is an LED because the color is slightly off (much like a cheap CFL bulb).

This bulb replaced a JC12 halogen bulb. The LED is not as bright as the halogen, but uses much less energy and therefore my desk lamp is now cool to the touch.

I purchased these to replace the halogen lights in my 5th wheel trailer. The halogen bulbs get very hot and I wanted something that would use less electricity and not produce heat. They fit fine but are much dimmer than the halogens. It would have been nice to make a wattage comparison but these were rated in lumens which is hard to compare.

Pleased with my use, to highlight a driveway. Have it next to a halogen bulb (20w), Not as bright but does not seem dim by comparison. Only had it for a month so we will have to see about longevity.
