Bought several of a previous model 20 watt Malibu outdoor light fixture and kept having bulbs burn out too quick. Also had one leak and corrode really fast. I ordered this different model and just got a call from mom that the "new light" was out again. Its almost becoming a joke as to how fast they will burn out, this last one lasted about 10 days. They are under an overhang and the voltage is correct (3rd transformer...don't ask).

Wouldn't you think an outdoor light system would be pretty simple?? Just buy a brand name and your good? I am really sorry I ever started this project but mom is getting up there and she needs to see at night when going to the spare fridge/pantry in the shed. I did buy some quality replacement bulbs from Amazon to see if its just a matter of mega-cheap cruddy stock bulbs. The reason for 3 stars (a "like" rating) is this fixture seems really nicely made and tough. It really looks and feels the part. I am willing to give it and Malibu another go here but they better perform this time or all the lights get the boot. MM

I have had 2 of these form a previous purchase at costco. They have been installed for the last 2 years w/o any unextpected problems. Bulbs las about a year or so and are easy to replace. Bought another one from amazon and I expect it to work just fine. It's not the highest quality but for $10 I can replace it if it fails. I'd expect it to last about 10 years. Would recommend using a direct burial grease filled wire nut made for underground use rather than the supplied pinch connectors for long term use. Reasonable light output. does not fit the larger low voltage light bulbs that include the reflector so you have to use the little ones that come with it and can be purchased for replacement at local hardware store.

...to fit a 12 ga wire. I was trying to fit them onto existing wires in my yard and try as I might, I couldn't get them to close/connect on the bigger wire. I bought 14 and that solved the problem, but cost me $38.

This light is very good, The bulbs last a very long time. I think this is a 10 watt light. but what ever it is, it is a very good light. I have a few of these lights, mostly 10 and 20 watts , and is very happy to have them.
