These lights are awesome and work very well. There are several settings that let you control the colors, pace, and overall effect of the lights. They are bright and large enough to light up a large dance floor. Easy to use, simply plug and play. There is a small instruction booklet included that explains the various light settings.
Suggested improvements (or what they lack) no on/off switch, can only be plugged in and unplugged. Several ports at the back that are only for show, they serve no purpose (this is confusing if you try to figure out what they are for). No sound activation, the lights have their own rhythm, can't be set to work based on the music being played.
All in all these are the best lights I was able to find. I think the most important improvement would be to let these lights work based on the music being played. I know there are several lights available here that let you do so, but those had very mixed reviews which is why I went with these. Small compromise for a good set of lights that work well in every other regard.

After reading the reviews, I was excited to buy this for my daughters party. Once it arrived, I plugged it in to test it and it worked nicely for about one minute. When my daughter got home from school, I plugged it in to show her, and could not get it to work again. The non-standard wall plug would not stay secure in the wall. Seriously, it doesn't have the same type of wall plug you find on virtually every electric device you can buy. Instead it has two flat smooth silver pieces of metal plug-shaped, that will slide into the wall outlet, but slide out just as easily. No contour or metal fold on the plugs to ensure a snug, secure fit.Even when plug is manually held in the wall outlet, the device wouldn't work. It lights up for a second and then stops working. If you get a working one it might be OK, but it's obviously cheaply made.
I'm unsure why it received such high ratings given what I received. Maybe I received a different model than everyone else.

We ordered this for a 70's party in our home. After reading other reviews, I wasn't sure it would be big enough, but for the price I figured it was worth a try. Purchased this for my 11 yr old's dance party. It was great and all the kids loved it. It is a good light and has lots of settings. We used it in the family room and it truly created the dance floor atmosphere. For the price & it's purpose, it was a perfect fit for us.
