Yep. That's what I did to have it hang over my vanity mirror. It looks great and the casts the light down where you need and not onto the ceiling (where it's hard to install a mirror for putting on your war paint in the morning). Seriously, having a light function in either direction to suit your needs is great. I plan on getting another one or something similar for my entrance way.
The oil bronze finish matches all the other oil bronze finished fixtures in the bathroom.
Very easy to install. I'm female, not an electrician and I had it up in a jiffy (turn off the power first!).
