Because I had already seen these lanterns in a local brick-and-mortar store and knew what I was ordering, I am very happy with them...because I knew they were actually orange not red when I ordered them. The local store was asking $39, I received these when they were listed at $12 and also got the "orange" ones for $20 (which are actually yellow).
These three stems of orange Chinese lanterns, each lit from within with a tiny LED, make a wonderful ambient nightlight when mixed with the three stems of yellow and three stems of pussy willows (also with LEDs).

I first saw these red Chinese lanterns in a store window while on vacation. They glow a soft, persimmon-y color--a glorious hue between red and orange. The lantern "blooms" look to be made of silk, and when examined up close, reveal subtle, detailed shading which lends to their realism. The set includes 3 separate branches (each branch has ten blooms) connected by an electric cord. Not all illuminated branches are powered by house current (some use batteries), but these are, which makes me much more inclined to to feel free to use them. I only ordered one set, but to me they seem quite lovely and complete in the tall, narrow "calligraphy" vase where I placed them. They will also look well paired with a set of lighted willow branches. When not lit, the little lanterns still look exquisite and quite natural.
I initially hesitated to buy this set due to the high price tag but after seeing them in my home, I think they were worth it. The Light Garden products that I have owned in the past have all been made with quality, and I hope to enjoy these for years to come. They provide a memorable and visually striking focal point to the room, and will lend an inviting mood of warmth in my home all year long.
