Three days after using these bulbs and I have blown through four of them. Using latex gloves, not touching the glass, setting up a clean room environment, using three different brand new light fixtures and they still blow out after a few hours use. Took a chance on them after reading some other bad reviews... Dont waste your money like I did!!!

No "buddy" of mine would quit this fast. I thought maybe my fixture was bad but after ready the other reviewer who has the same problem I do then it must be the bulbs. I get maybe 3 hours out of a bulb if I'm lucky. I NEVER touch the bulbs with my bare hands and I never move the light once it has been turned on.

Save your money and buy a more expensive brand it will last at least 50 times longer.

This light bulb package was just what I was looking for. It is hard to find T-3 500 Watt Halogen bulbs nowdays. Everyone wants the CFL or LED bulbs, but they do not give the natural (almost sun-like) light that these give off. Cost mor to operate I'm sure, but I guess that for my basement lighting, these work wonders in a torchiere floor lamp.

Not all halogen bulbs are alike. The bulbs that came with my shop lamps (not these) blew out in a hurry even though I was careful to not leave any residue on them and not move or bump the lamps when lit. The ceramic stuff at the ends would easily crumble any time the bulbs were replaced, no matter how careful I was. This made them fussy for alignment so that once everything was all back together, they would sometimes not light or go out. I then bit the bullet and spent the few extra bucks for these bulbs in the well designed case, and right off you can tell they are way better made although I can not attest for there longevity since I only installed them a month or so ago.
