The installation sheet talks about a mounting plate but none is included. There is a 1/2" screwable plug that can be removed from the back of the light for wires to pass through, but that's it. I had to go to Lowe's to get a ceiling style electrical box for my wall. They also sold me a bar that goes across the box and accepts a threaded connector. If you've ever installed a fan or ceiling light you've probably seen one of these. Unfortunately, the standard for the threaded connector is 3/8", not 1/2", so it fits loosely through the hole in the Morris light. I had to use a washer and tighten it as hard as I could to keep the light stable. My application was inside on a wall. If I'd been doing an outside install, this would have been unacceptable.
I plugged in the light and it worked, thank goodness. I'd have been pretty upset if I went to all this trouble and the light didn't work anyway. Since there is a photo receptor, I'd sort of expected it not to work until I'd covered up the receptor with some tape. There are no instructions on how to use or not use the photo receptor. This is one of those products that work ok for people who have done a lot of similar installations and are comfortable with jury rigging. Not so great for everyone else.
