I mounted these lights on my desk hutch and it gives me enough light for working. I mounted the remote by my office door so I can turn it on from there or by using the switch on the unit. The ability to swivel and tilt each light gives it great flexibility. I used the mounting screws instead of the tape to be on the safe side.I bought this to light up a dark corner under kitchen cabinets. The remote works great and so do the lights
