I have tried to contact Woodway Products regarding the power of the lighting on the solar lights I have fitted. After working for a week, the light emitted is very poor and nothing like it was in the first few day. The Woodway website gives no contact telephone number, so I sent them an email with my query about the efficiency of the batteries. After a week there is still no reply.

So beware, if you buy a Woodway product and something goes wrong, do not expect any after sales sales service, not even the courtesy of a reply from them.

Great looking unit, the LED lighting is just bright enough to see around our otherwise dark back yard, with regards to ascending/descending the stairs of the deck. We used these on the 6" posts on either side of the two stairwells. A neighbor of ours uses the same units on either side of the gate to their fence, looks great. ONE shortfall, we had to replace one of the batteries shortly after purchase and six months later, another battery. I have read other reviews with the same complaint...so possibly the company could increase the price a couple dollars and provide a higher quality battery with it?

We have two of these caps on our back porch and have been very satisfied over the year that we have owned them. We got them in the winter months and did notice they only provided 2 hours of light in the evenings from a cloudy-day's charge, then we moved them away from the house to the outer deck post corners and this increased. When summer came along there was no problem whatesover. We love these caps, not to mention the single solar cell on the top looks much better than our neighbor's clunky solar caps with cells on four sides. We have just replaced the batteries as we noticed the light seemed a bit dimmer...overall we would recommend this cap, and may buy a few more ourselves.

We bought 4 of these for our new deck. They look great out of the box, finish is good and they are nice looking. You have to charge them in full sun for at least a day prior to using them. We followed the instructions and 2 of them worked for a week the other two were DOA. The two that did work did not last an entire evening and the light is very dim. It would be better to deal with the hassle of wiring lights in then using these as they are a complete waste of money. I am still waiting to hear back from the manufacturer on a refund.

Supplied batteries were crap, didn't recharge enough thru the daylight hours.. I replaced with my own ni-cads and lamp works tho not very bright. For the price it's a decent novelty item, but please supply adequate batteries of at least 900 or 1200 mAh.
