I installed two of these bulbs in an outdoor motion-sensing fixture and set the timer to about 5 minutes of on-time. So actual time illuminated was almost nothing. One of these bulbs burned out after two months. Probably not more than 30 minutes of on-time, not the 2,000 hours promised. Bulbs from another manufacturer, Philips, installed in a similar outdoor motion-sensing fixture have continued to work after many years.

I have also had the few other GE bulbs I have installed burn out prematurely as well. Those likewise had limited use and burned out prematurely, usually before six months. I will not buy any more GE brand light bulbs. The problem with them seems to be endemic.

I installed this in an outdoor light that illuminates automatically at dusk and shuts off at dawn. within a week it had burned out. will not be purchasing this brand again.

I understand the frustrations of the other reviewers, but old fashioned bulbs often do burn out, despite what the manufacturer promises. The great thing about GE is that they stand behind their promise-if you are dissatisfied with the performance of the bulb, you can call them up and they will make you whole. Considering the fact that this is a commodity product, I would prefer the service of GE as a backup to ensure that I am getting what I bought.

Lasted all of 3 months? Just wow.

The light was used as a motion detector light for our back walkway. We ordered two of them and they were both burned out within 3 months.
