Not only are these Sylvania bulbs more expensive, their light is poor and they don't last. Six weeks ago I bought the four pack. 2 are already burned out and the other two -placed adjacent to other CFL indoor floods -emit far less than advertised 65w equivalent. These are just terrible bulbs and an awful waste of money. The product is so inferior, it should be withdrawn from the market by Sylvania.

Dumb old me, I neglected to notice that the color temperature for these lamps was not stated in the specifications. This should be a mandatory inclusion but somebody apparently doesn't care.

These are 2700K lamps, just about at the bottom of the range for CFL's. If you like REALLY warm lamps, these are for you. Personally, I don't look pretty in pink so I'm going to toss them.

A thoughtful reader advises me that these lamps were sold by a third party seller and that Sylvania would not be so neglectful. I agree and think Sylvania is great (one of the reasons I chose these lamps). Sylvania is like mom and apple pie and is worthy of great respect.

I have several gripes about these bulbs:

1) They take much longer to brighten than your average CFL

2) They are deeper/taller than other floods, so they didn't fit my cans as well--be sure to check before you buy

3) The clamshell packaging was very difficult to open (although I'm sure this would be true of other brands as well)

So good so far. These are brighter (have more lumens) than all of the other 65W equivalent flood light bulbs and I like that. This is the first time I am trying the Sylvania CFL floods to see how long their life is. All of the other manufacturers except GE have had a very shorter life span than advertised.

I installed the three bulbs and one died within a day.

The working ones take several minutes to warm up. While warming up, they are very dim so I wouldn't use them in any area that you needed reasonable light immediately.

Overall, I'm very unhappy and disappointed in the Sylvania brand.
