This alights as near to instantly as you can get and still have an AC/DC converter in the lamp (prevents flicker). It gives a crisp bright light that is slightly whiter than the earlier version using 12.5 watts. My only complaint is that mine buzzes a little after being left on for a while but it's probably a fluke rather than a design flaw. If you like LED lights this is one of the better choices.

It claims to emit 830 lumens, but it seems a bit dimmer than the 12.5 Watt version claiming 800 lumens. Not a lot dimmer, just a bit. (It could simply be due to the "soft white" feature.) I like it because it does not cast the 3 bars of shadow that the 12.5 Watt original did. Even light, good white color. Best LED bulb yet.
