I've used the other brand of candles , and I have to say this brand is one of my favorites !! The light last a long time and the smell is great , and then it settles down to just a soft smell . I love the timer on it and it's just bright enough to use like a night light , not recommended for reading with ! light doesn't seem to drain to much off the batteries either !!

I had purchased a triple-LED candle many years ago and really liked how realistic the flickering was compared to ones with a single LED, but it was made of plastic and did not have a timer. Furthermore, when lit, light was visible through the sides of the top half of the candle. With a wax single LED candle I also own, almost the entire candle was lit from the inside. Real candles don't do this.

This candle has three LEDs for a more realistic flicker, is made of real wax, and has the timer function. Best of all, only the very topmost portion where the LEDs are located gives off light, just like a real candle. The candle is darker in color than the photo here, but that doesn't matter to me.
