I was skeptical about this upgrade when I ordered it, but figured that I could afford to give it a try for $10.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!!!!!! I used it to upgrade the old 90 lumen Surefire weapon light I keep on a home defense gun--it is now easily 3x brighter with a good white center spot and quite a bit more peripheral throw than the original head. I doubt that it's really 500 lumen...probably closer to 300 based on a comparison with my Surefire LX2 Lumamax.(rated at 200) This new head does have more spill, so it's not going to increase the distance of the beam much, but indoors, it lights up the whole room--which is pretty much what I was looking for. At hallway distances it's BRIGHT. (I flashed myself in the mirror 30 minutes ago and I'm still seeing spots.)

Seriously, if you have an old incandescent 6P (or a flashlight that uses a P60 head) this is a very inexpensive way to boost the output into retina burning territory.

I didn't give it 5 stars for 2 reasons: This part shipped from China and took about a month to arrive....but for 10 bucks, it was worth the wait.

The other reason is that I want to see how well it holds up to recoil and use before giving it full marks.

This 500 lumen rated CREE R5 lamp module (which is elsewhere more realistically rated @ 320 lumens) draws about 5.0 to 5.5 watts and produces significantly more light than the $1.00 cheaper 300 lumen model (which is about "real world" about 200 lumens at best) and draws about 3.75 watts. If battery life is not a consideration, this "500 lumen" module is the best all around choice of the 3 Cree conversion lamp modules sold by "Highly".

I purchased this bulb for my Surefire G2 Nitrolon Single-Output Incandescent Flashlight.

Using a flat head screw driver I carefully removed the outer spring provided with the new bulb. Very easy to do. Then insert the bulb (spring removed) as you would any other replacement. It's a bit more snug than the factory bulb assembly. Screw down the bezel all the way for continuous light. Back out the bezel enough to turn light off and operate from tailswitch if you wish.

The Surefire G2 is now brighter than my Surefire G2 & G3 LED lights. This was a surprise as it's about 30% brighter.

So far I have only used the light a few times with no problems. I am skeptical of the results for no other reason than its superior results. It's almost too good to be true and will only know the true results after extended use.

good so far, had my doubts from no name, China product, I received my lamp on time and works well so far, excellent price point, if you want to have an option for older surefire g2 incandescent, I would recommend this product.

I love this Bulb. Led is extremely bright. I think if I look into the light that it might blind me. The company is amazing. They shipped it out VERY quick.
