After looking at offerings from all the good light suppliers, I settled on the XT2C as it most closely fit what I wanted out of a light.
Pros:
Its highest mode (specified at 470 lumens) is great for disorienting and lights up the outdoors with a fairly floody beam from the Cree XM-L T6 led in a small package. It won't throw for hundreds of yards, but for lighting up everything in front of you out to a hundred or so, it does the job well.
Its medium mode (150lm) is perfectly bright for indoor or upclose work where anything brighter blinds you when it bounces off white or reflective surfaces.
Its low mode (10lm) is enough to read and accomplish small tasks by without generating too much of a signature or annoying others.
The Klarus two-button UI is brilliant. Smacking the large power button always brings the light on in High. Pressing the smaller mode button with the light on cycles from High -> Medium -> Low -> High. Pressing the mode button with the light off gives you momentary strobe and holding it from any state for 2 seconds turns the strobe completely on. It is intuitive and easy to use one-handed quickly.
It can accept the rechargeable 18650 lithium cells for extended battery life as well as the rechargeable RCR123 batteries. I would caution everyone to use only high quality protected rechargeable cells. They're worth the extra money as if something terrible were to happen a bad lithium battery can vent with flame and turn a sealed aluminum case into a fiery bomb in your pocket. This is unlikely with quality lights, cells, and chargers. Never leave rechargeable lithium batteries alone, in a charger, or in inclimate environments.
It is just small enough for me to comfortably pocket carry. For me, anything larger would be cumbersome.
Cons:
My only negative is the pocket clip. It doesn't seem as well-designed as the rest of the light and is difficult for me to get over the edge of clothing. The end of the clip does not open far enough away from the body of the light to slip over denim or heavy work pants well. I don't know of another solution to this at this moment.
Early versions of this light shipped without pocket clips, but all of those should be bought up by now. If you are concerned, contact the seller to confirm yours will have one if it's necessary for you.
Notes:
The second image on this page as of 11/10/2012 is actually of the XT2A. It is a slimmer-bodied light that uses AAs. The XT2C is roughly the same width throughout.
I hope this helps others find this wonderful light or any of the XT line of Klarus lights. It isn't often a product solves my problems so well and I'm thoroughly pleased with Klarus's offerings.

In short: Great product in quality of build and function of use.At greater length:
I would highly recommend Klarus products for anyone looking for a great flashlight at a very reasonable price. I have not owned a SureFire because of the price but from my observation/memory there is not a difference in the quality of light produced between this Klarus light and similar other brands. I especially like the dual button end cap design Klarus employs, very easy to use the momentary on and strobe functions if necessary.
As for the XT2C model it is great to keep in a glovebox, in a small day pack etc. and puts out a great beam...but it excels as an EDC sized light. If you do not plan on keeping the light on you often (only on a glovebox, on night stand etc.) you may want to get a larger model (XT11 I believe is one option).
