These bulbs are great! They replaced my standard incandescent lights I had in the vanity of my bathroom. They look good, you can't really see or notice the base because the color is so close to that of the bulb. As far as brightness, these bulbs are a high wattage replacement and light up my whole bathroom with just 4 of them(small vanity). Remember that this style LED bulb will be much heavier than an incandescent bulb so make sure your fixture can carry the weight.

Be aware though, the color or warmth of these bulbs is a very bright white to almost blue light. I would say slightly on the bluer(but still white, not colored) side when compared to traditional "daylight" bulbs, there are no 'soft' yellow tones. This is what I wanted so it's great for me, but it did take a day or two to adjust to the color difference from my old bulbs. All in all I am very happy with this purchase and just ordered more for my upstairs bathroom.

I have this bulb and the Tuwago® 9.5W Globe CREE® LED Bulb Warm White 2700K bulb, both of which are installed side by side in my bathroom. Both are great bulbs. However, I find this Satco S8784 bulb to be better.

The 5000 kelvin light color is a true 5000K. It is not blue like 5500K and 6000K bulbs, and it is not yellow like the 4000K and 3000K bulbs. Mine seemed to be slightly on the bluish side when I first installed it, but then I realized that my bathroom walls are painted a pale blue. I tried the light in a different location and saw that this bulb is truly at the rated 5000K color, I even compared it to my photography lamps. Just in case you are unaware: 5000k is the rating for true white light. Incandescent bulbs are usually rated at around 2700k and give a yellowish light. Any bulb called "Daylight" is not really daylight unless its color temperature is 5000k.

The box says it is only 460 lumens in brightness, and the product photo says it is 200 lumens. I thought I got a dim bulb since 460 lumens is not very bright. However, once turned on, it was a little brighter than my fluorescent and other LED bulbs. I think they might have underrated the lumens for this bulb. I can say for sure that it is at least as bright as the Tuwago bulb, which is rated at 480 lumens.

Its size is the same as the typical bathroom globe bulbs that are incandescent and fluorescent. The Tuwago® 9.5W Globe CREE® LED Bulb Warm White 2700K bulb is much larger, which is nice too but kind of bulky. I am glad this Satco bulb is the same size as the regular style bulbs.

When turned on, there is no delay; it is instant on.

I need to state that the product description is not correct at the time of writing this review: It states this is a 7 watt bulb, but the bulb is actually 8 watts as listed on the box. This misrepresentation almost wants to make me mark this review as a 4 star rating, but the product itself is very quality, so I left it at 5 stars.

So far, this is the best LED globe style bulb I have tried out. I highly recommend it.

Although these are pricier than your standard vanity globe, it's cool lighting and ideal for applying makeup and/or doing your hair. I have three of these in our upstairs bathroom and three in our downstairs bathroom. I also feel that I am helping with the greening of the world by using these.
